In this episode, we interview with multimedia artist and musician Carl Trunk. We get a chance to hear about his creative process, some of the projects he has been working on, and what inspired him to create our theme song “It’s a creepy stormy day”.

Well, I start with my shoulders.

My name is Carl. I like to make I like to make a lot of art stuff.

I made some cool sculptures, and then this one And that is a tiger, and that is a panther, and these are spider heads.

I made stuff out of clay, and I made something with clay with birds. I made some fashion designer. I do like Halloween costumes. Nice.

And for CCW, I made these cool paintings.

And then where We’re right now, we’re in the music room, and CCW has their record label, the pop, pop, pop record. What music do you like?

I like anything with… I like anything with Alicia Keys. Nice. And then all of those with Alicia Keys and pavarotti, and all pavarotti stuff.

Do you like listening to spooky sounds?

Yeah. And Sometimes I like to do any type of sounds. I can pretend I was being funny. Sometimes I watch cartoon and something like that. And then I go, What smells like cheese? And then, Because I don’t really cut it. That’s a really good one. That’s a really good one. That’s so good. Sometimes I do like, a hole, some of me timbers. Aaaarrrrrrr! Aaaaarrrr!

You’ve got some awesome music that you’ve made here. Do you remember… How did you make this song? What were some thoughts about?

I made that song because I Because I like creepy stuff. Nice. And funny, creepy stuff and some spooks.

What’s your favorite part of the song?

And a song Sometimes I didn’t got subspaced in it, mysterious.

And Maybe there’s a lot of A lot of commotion, storms, lightning.

My favorite part of the song is when you yell Happy New Year. I like it so much. We’ve got it at the end of every one of our podcast episodes. Yeah, I like it very much. Do you like storms?

Sometimes I’m not really afraid of them, especially when I was a little boy.

No, that’s awesome. I remember growing up and they’re There used to be a lot of different kinds of storms. I grew up in Indiana where you have a lot of tornadoes. And so every Friday, there would be a storm morning, and we’d have to prepare. Yeah. It is a creepy stormy thing that happens for sure. You use a lot of opera sounds in your music. What is your favorite part about opera?

My favorite part of opera? Every time opera, Every time I get it out in my system. Nice. And then it makes me It makes me loud and proud.

What is your technique? You make a really great opera sound. What’s your technique for making opera noises?
[00:08:43.18]
My technique… When I go, Wow.

That is awesome. It’s really good. That was so good. You got to give me some, too. I’m not sure I can project. Should I try to make an opera sound?

Yeah.

Oh, man. I have to do the arm. Yeah, yeah. It’s not nearly as good. What are some of the paintings that we have We appeared through the Christmas tree. Oh, nice.

Like a moon, presents. Those are like bubbles, like under the sea Christmas. Those are bats. And these are like This is a laboratory.

And For like, there’s a med scientist I see movies and man scientists.

So you’ve got all of these paintings here. I know that you also like to make videos. What are some of the things that you have in your videos? I know you’ve been working on with Pearl for a while.

My video about… It’s like an urban jungle myth with a lot of kraken and cyclops.

Nice. So you had a kraken and a cyclops. Isn’t there a sandwich?

Yeah, a kraken sandwich.

Oh, nice. Yeah, we got to show… Let’s bring out the Kraken. What do you make it out of, Carl?

This is out of paper and a cardboard. And down here is this paper. And that’s made out of eggs. Oh, yeah. And the crab meat. That’s not a delicious sandwich. And this looks like bacon.
