Hours: Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Wednesday 10:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m., and Sunday 12:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. Closed on Monday.

Admission: Adults $10, seniors $8, college students $5, and youth $3, with children six and under entering for free. Free on Sunday.



General Description: Founded in 1912, the Delaware Art Museum holds a world-renowned collection of more than 12,000 works focusing on American art and illustration from the 19th to the 21st century as well as the English Pre-Raphaelite movement of the mid-19th century. Newly renovated and expanded, the Delaware Art Museum offers an outdoor Sculpture Park, the Helen Farr Sloan Library & Archives, studio art classes, an interactive Kids’ Corner learning area, the delART Café featuring free Wi-Fi access, and the Museum Store with distinctive books and gifts.

Access Information: Three handicap parking spaces are available near the back entrance. Entrances are wheelchair accessible.




B/VI: Touch tours can be arranged with 4 weeks advance notice; audio description available occasionally. Handouts are available in large print.
Tactile/auditory program access 

D/HH: Sign Language interpretation available upon request with 48 hours notice. Assistive listening devices available for certain highly attended events/exhibits.

WC/MI: Museum facilities all on ground level. Exhibits, library, café and gift store are accessible. Wheelchairs are available for public use.


Public Transportation/Directions: From the South on I-95:

1.Take I-95 North to Exit 7, Delaware Avenue. The exit ramp will become Adams Street. 2.Follow Adams Street until it intersects Delaware Avenue at the third traffic light. 3.Turn left on Delaware Avenue. At the second traffic light, bear to the right to stay on Delaware Avenue where it joins with Pennsylvania Avenue. Proceed through eight more traffic lights on Delaware Avenue to the stop sign at Bancroft Parkway. 4.Turn right on Bancroft Parkway (there are signs posted for the museum there) and proceed through three stop signs to Kentmere Parkway. 5.After the third stop sign, turn left on to Kentmere Parkway. The Museum is immediately visible on the right.



From the North on I-95:

1.Take I-95 South to Exit 7b, Delaware Avenue. The exit ramp will become Jackson Street. 2.Follow Jackson Street until it intersects Delaware Avenue at the traffic light. 3.Turn right on Delaware Avenue. At the next traffic light, bear to the right to stay on Delaware Avenue where it joins with Pennsylvania Avenue. Proceed through eight more traffic lights on Delaware Avenue to the stop sign at Bancroft Parkway. 4.Turn right on Bancroft Parkway (there are signs posted for the museum there) and proceed through three stop signs to Kentmere Parkway. 5.After the third stop sign, turn left on Kentmere Parkway. The Museum is immediately visible on the right.



From the north on RTE 202:

1.Take RTE 202 South toward Wilmington. 2.Exit at Augustine Cut-off (Just before the I-95 exit). 3.Follow Augustine Cut-off till it ends at Lovering Ave. 4.Turn right on Lovering Ave. 5.Make a slight right from Lovering Ave onto Kentmere Parkway. The Museum is on the right.
