• Be sure to provide alternative dates on your request form should your first date choice be unavailable.

Please note: Art-Reach members may request tours from September 1st - May 31st.  This excludes Thanksgiving Weekend, December 24th - January 2nd, and the Aquarium's designated two-week period of "Button's Birthday Bash" in the Spring. 

Due to limited capacities and large crowds, Art-Reach members can not request to visit the aquarium during "peak" summer months of June-August.

4D Theater Experience

Experience film as you never have before!  The 4D theater is an immersive experience that touches on all of the senses. Please check the upcoming schedule to see what is currently playing.

Top of the Ocean Realm Tour (Ages 8 and older)

Home to over 1500 animals, our 760,00-gallon Ocean Realm exhibit gives a spectacular view of life under the waves.  The 30-minute tour allows you and your group to get a rare glimpse of the top of the exhibit and see the animals up close.

Behind-the -Scenes Tour (Ages 12 and up)

Ever wonder how we take care of the thousands of animals at the Adventure Aquarium? During this 60-minute tour you will see where we prepare the food, test the water, and how we keep the animals healthy.  This special tour will give you a birds-eye view from atop our 760,000 gallon Open Ocean Tank.

Admission Information:

Complementary admission for one staff person will be provided for everyone 20 patrons scheduled to visit the venue.

Chanticleer was the estate of Christine and Adolph Rosengarten, Sr. Mr. Rosengarten was head of the pharmaceutical company Rosengarten and Sons. Their son Adolph, Jr., left the property to be enjoyed as a public garden. The garden opened to visitors in 1993.

Chanticleer is indeed a pleasure garden, offering an escape from the rush of every day life and a place where one can feel like a personal guest of the Rosengarten family. Read More...

Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts

Founded in 1979 by a small volunteer group of artists and arts patrons, the DCCA made its focus the promotion of growth and understanding of the contemporary arts in Delaware. It started in a former sheet-metal fabricating factory and moved several times, finally finding a permanent home in 2000. This location offered a 35,000-square-foot building and, once remodeled, opened with seven galleries, 26 on-site artist studios, an auditorium, a museum shop, a classroom and administrative office space.

Opened in 1829 as part of a controversial movement to change the behavior of inmates through "confinement in solitude with labor," Eastern State Penitentiary quickly became one of the most expensive and most copied buildings in the young United States. Some of America's most notorious criminals were held in the Penitentiary including bank robber Willie Sutton and Al Capone.

Community Night

Members can request to attend the Franklin Institute's Community Nights, offered on August 18th, 2010, September 15th, 2010, October 20th, 2010, and November 17th, 2010 . Community nights are held from 5:00-8:00pm and include the following: self-guided access to all of The Franklin Institute’s hand-on exhibits, tickets to the Tuttleman IMAX** Theater, 3D Shows in The Franklin Theater, Live Science Shows, Fels Planetarium Shows, and self-guided access to the Joel N. Bloom Observatory.

*Note: Not all Community Nights feature free IMAX tickets. Please check with the Art-Reach Programming Department to confirm availability prior to submitting your request. There are no free IMAX tickets for feature length films.

Please note: Self-guided tours must have at least 15 people in order to receive the Art-Reach rate at the Franklin Institute.  Chaperones do not count towards the minimum group size of 15.  Guided tours are not available.

Additional Note: The Franklin Institute requires at least a 1:10 staff to client ratio for visitors under the ages of 18, with a maximum of 1:5. Any adult chaperone over the one per five ratio will be charged the Art-Reach Youth Rate. Chaperone rates are valid for visits Monday-Friday only.

The Mummer's Museum
Opened in 1976, and is dedicated to the Philadelphia celebration of the new year. Tours can focus on the following elements of the museum's collections:

Congregation Mikveh Israel (synagogue sanctuary and lobby): This Sephardic (from the Spanish-Portuguese tradition) congregation, established in 1740, is one of the oldest in the United States. The presentation includes a tour of the synagogue sanctuary, a discussion of the early Jewish settlement in America and information on Sephardic ritual customs. On display in the lobby are letters to the Congregation from Presidents George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Preview Gallery: Our Preview Gallery features future plans of the new site of our museum set to open in 2010, which will stand directly across from the Liberty Bell, two blocks south of the National Constitution Center, and one block north of the birthplace of American liberty, Independence Mall.

Current Museum exhibition: “Shaping Space, Making Meaning” invites visitors and groups to respond to plans for our new landmark core exhibition exploring the American Jewish experience.

The following Education Lessons are available:

Coming to America (grades 4-6): What was it like to immigrate from Europe to America in the late 1800’s? Students pretend to be a member of an immigrant family and work as a team to make difficult decisions about their journey.

Samuel’s Story (grades K-3): What was life like more than 200 years ago? Students participate in a story about a Jewish boy living in Colonial Philadelphia and have the chance to handle the kinds of objects he would have used.

America's first art museum and art school. The collection features American works from the eighteenth to the twentieth centuries; the building is a national historic landmark and a work of art on its own, designed in the High Victorian Gothic style. Accessibility Information:

While much of the Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens site at 1020 South Street is accessible to people who use wheelchairs, the site is not fully wheelchair accessible. There are 2 steps up to the front entrance on South Street but no steps from the main outdoor garden into the side of door of the gallery. The side entrance into the gallery is approximately 29 inches wide. Some parts of the garden can only be accessed by stairs. There is a wheelchair-accessible gated entrance on South Street that leads into the outdoor garden, and visitors who need to enter through the gated entrance on South Street should knock on the front door or call the front desk at (215) 733-0390 for assistance.

The Philadelphia Zoo’s 42-acre Victorian garden is home to more than 1,300 animals, many of them rare and endangered. The Zoo, fulfilling its mission of conservation, science, education and recreation, supports and engages in conservation efforts to protect endangered species around the world. The Zoo has more than 1,300 rare and endangered animals, and its attendance is approximately 1.1 million visitors a year.  Visitors can take guided tours by the Zoo's highly trained volunteer educators who are eager to share their knowledge and offer a wide range of topics from which to choose.

Tours can be requested for trips that take place Sunday through Thursday only.

The University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, through its research, collections, exhibitions, and educational programming, advances understanding of the world's cultural heritage.

Founded in 1887, Penn Museum has conducted more than 400 archaeological and anthropological expeditions around the world. Three gallery floors feature materials from Egypt, Mesopotamia, the Bible Lands, Mesoamerica, Asia and the ancient Mediterranean World, as well as artifacts from native peoples of the Americas, Africa and Polynesia. With an active exhibition schedule, a membership program, and educational programming for children and adults, Penn Museum offers the public an opportunity to share in the ongoing discovery of humankind's collective heritage.

Guided tours are limited to 30 patrons or fewer and require 6 weeks leads time to schedule. Guided Tours last for one hour can be scheduled during the following times Tuesday-Friday: 10:00-11:00am, 11:00-12:00pm, and 1:00-3:00pm. Sunday tours are available on a limited basis between 1:00-5:00pm

Please note: The museum is not air conditioned and during the summer the galleries are very hot.  Patrons with heat sensitivity should take note and plan to visit the museum during cooler months of the year.

Self-Guided Tours are $3.00 per person

Guided Tours require a $45.00 docent fee, plus the $3.00 per person admission fee.

Guided Tour with short film and demonstration- View a short film on the craft of wood turning; enjoy a guided tour of the current exhibit on display and end your experience with with a wood turning demonstration by a trained craftsmen. This experience takes between an hour to an hour and a half.
