Independence Starts Here Promotions Coordinator Start Date: March 2010 Reports To: Executive Director What will I be doing? Teaming closely with Art-Reach's Executive Director, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that Art-Reach fulfills its obligations as a leader of the Independence Starts Here cultural-access initiative (ISH). ISH, which is jointly led by Art-Reach and VSA Arts of PA, provides resources to help arts organizations become more accessible and promotes accessible cultural events to potential audiences. Art-Reach is primarily responsible for the audience-development and promotional aspect of the ISH mission, and the ISH Promotions Coordinator is the Art-Reach team member who ensures that we meet our responsibility for the initiative. Fall Interns Start Date: Fall 2010 - flexible Reports To: Program Manager and Associate Director Schedule: Business Hours - at least 8 hours per week in one full 8 hour shift Service Length: 3 months/flexible What will I be doing? Interns experience all aspects of the daily workings at Art-Reach including arranging and hosting trips for members. Responsibilities include assisting Art-Reach staff, processing member requests, securing ticket pledges, assisting with current workshops, data entry, assisting in event planning, writing feature articles, updating web site copy, researching opportunities for new constituency relationships and assisting in developing these relationships. This experience is well suited for anyone looking for experience in non-profit organizations. What skills do I need? Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, have knowledge in Windows Operating System, be detail oriented and organized, be able to work independently or as part of team, be willing to take initiative and direction, and have a strong desire to learn new things everyday. Education/Experience: Ambassadors should be attending college or have a completed college level education. Experience with human service agencies, disability community, and/or the arts a plus.
